More watercolor love...

Well, here goes!  I've fallen in love with watercolors and need some extra cash to support my new artistic habit while still being able to pay my outrageous student loans.

Watercolors :)

I love the craft room.  I don't spend near enough time in it, especially during the school year.  It's so easy to forget that between the lesson planning, curriculum mapping, organizing, and heaven knows what else may come up, we actually need some time to something that makes us happy to be who we are.  Something other than teaching, that is.


For me, that thing is painting.  Usually I use acrylics on canvas to paint whatever might be in my heart at the moment.  Usually has something to do with water, trees, or just color....  Today was my day for me.  I was a naughty teacher and cancelled my training for the day.  I just was not ready for it.  I know it's terrible.  I admit it!  I hope the staff development gods will forgive me. Tomorrow and Thursday are a MUST.  Somebody please give me the ability to get up and out of the house by 7:45 am.  I just don't know if I can do it!


I think I'm a little late to the watercolor party, but man... I'm in love!  I've done very little with these in the past, but today I fell in love.  Did y'all know that black watercolor could be so dense on the paper?  I didn't!


These are the ones I actually finished.  There are a couple more that I did not take photos of yet.  I am having a love affair with circles.  I don't know how long it will last.  The pics are terrible & the colors didn't come out quite as nice as they are in person, but I post with love... ♥

Summer, 2012

2012 has been a rough go... we lost Scooby, we lost my sweet sister Jodi, I had a bit of surgery and recovery has been a challenge.  I find myself having some anxiety that I didn't have before and getting back out into the world (even shopping for new school stuff, which I LOVE) makes me tremble & sweat.  I'm hoping it will pass with practice.

Bestie & me went on a long drive.... to Colorado!  We drove the long way and went through Kansas.  It was a beautiful and fun trip.  It was difficult to do a lot of the things I really wanted to enjoy because my body just wasn't ready for it all but still we had fun.

With great love....

 Naomi lost her sweet Scooby Doo on Friday, March 2nd, 2012.  She was the sweetest puppy ever known and she lived a great 15 1/2 years with Naomi.  That's a lot of years of unconditional love, rope playing, cat bed sitting, back yard wandering, window gazing, head butting, lap snuggling, and just all-around puppy love.... you will be forever loved, sweet Dogbert.  ♥
