Summer, 2012
2012 has been a rough go... we lost Scooby, we lost my sweet sister Jodi, I had a bit of surgery and recovery has been a challenge. I find myself having some anxiety that I didn't have before and getting back out into the world (even shopping for new school stuff, which I LOVE) makes me tremble & sweat. I'm hoping it will pass with practice.
Bestie & me went on a long drive.... to Colorado! We drove the long way and went through Kansas. It was a beautiful and fun trip. It was difficult to do a lot of the things I really wanted to enjoy because my body just wasn't ready for it all but still we had fun.
Here are just a few pics from the trip, several of which are edited with Snapseed, my new favorite photo editing app for iPhone & iPad.

Bestie & me went on a long drive.... to Colorado! We drove the long way and went through Kansas. It was a beautiful and fun trip. It was difficult to do a lot of the things I really wanted to enjoy because my body just wasn't ready for it all but still we had fun.

With great love....
Naomi lost her sweet Scooby Doo on Friday, March 2nd, 2012. She was the sweetest puppy ever known and she lived a great 15 1/2 years with Naomi. That's a lot of years of unconditional love, rope playing, cat bed sitting, back yard wandering, window gazing, head butting, lap snuggling, and just all-around puppy love.... you will be forever loved, sweet Dogbert. ♥
We miss you.

So, I've started off on the right foot... I can hardly believe it.
Here's the thing: I never understood why I couldn't work the focus when on manual with my pretty little Canon Rebel XT. I've had it for about 5 years. It's ok, you can laugh. This past week, Bestie and I were taking pictures of my great niece and I wanted to try the manual focus because I've been attempting to learn about f stops and getting the little blurry effect in the background while the focul point is sharp. Well, needless to say after 5 years of having the camera, I can now focus in manual by turning the focus part of the lens... not the zoom part of the lens. Duh! :)
Here's Day 2: a dusty piano with some pretty blurry lights from the Christmas tree in the background. The dust speaks volumes about how little I play and how much I'd like to.
